BGMI is finally back in India after a long 10 month ban.
If you are a mobile game lover then you must have heard of Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI), the new name of PUBG.
What is BGMI and why is it banned?
BGMI is a mobile game where you and 99 other players set foot on an island and fight to survive to the end. The game has many modes, maps, weapons, vehicles and costumes that make millions of players interesting and exciting. The game was created by Krafton, a Korean company that also owns PUBG.
The Indian government banned BGMI along with 117 other Chinese apps on July 28, 2022, under Section 69A of the IT Act. The reason is that these apps are harmful to the sovereignty and integrity of India, defense, national security and public order of India. The government is also concerned about data privacy and user security.
How did Krafton bring back BGMI?
Krafton worked with the Indian authorities to address their concerns and bring the game back to India. The company says it has taken several steps to ensure compliance with all Indian laws, such as:

- Requires user consent for data collection and transfer
- Use Microsoft Azure to host the game's cloud services

When and how to play BGMI?
BGMI is currently available to download from the play store, however, you may not be able to play the game right away as the game is still under government surveillance. The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has unblocked the game from app stores for three months, but authorities will monitor it to ensure it follows Indian rules.
